Ever since our engagement in Venice (today 1 month ago already!), I lost my heart in the city a little bit. We stayed there for 3-4 days and Vittorio’s parents showed us the true beauty of the city. I honestly thought it was tiny before, but now realise how big it really is.

I mean look at that golden glow.. Our first evening was already so magical, I am a sucker for these sunsets 😍 This is really in the heart of Venice:

We did some island-hopping as well. We visited Murano and Lido and also took a boatride on the Canale Grande to just enjoy the view. Pictures tell more that words, so hereby some pictures of Murano:

My favourite place in Venice was definitely the Doge’s Palace and the Piazza San Marco. The arabic looking Palace seemed surreal in an environment like Venice. The details are amazing. I could stare at it for hours. Next time, I would love to see the inside!

If you have the chance to go to Venice, make sure to have enough time to see it all! Just a weekend is not enough if you want to enjoy the full beauty of it, and its nearby islands. Go to Murano, Burano and Lido as well with the ferry’s. The system is easy and convenient. At first, it is strange to be in a city that is completely car and bike free! But I got used to it really easily, it really makes a person slow down and live a bit more relaxed! Venice is beautiful, and I can’t wait to come back!
Have you been there? Tell me what impressed you the most!
Until next time,
